HLL: Vietnam Mortar & Artillery Calculator
Type two grid references, get distance and azimuth instantly. Elevation tables go live with launch-day field calibration on August 13, 2026 β sampled in real matches, data published openly.
Square size defaults to the 200 m Hell Let Loose series convention; we verify Vietnam's exact grid at launch and update here. Keypads follow the standard phone layout (1 NW β¦ 9 SE).
How the calculator works
Grid references resolve to coordinates: a letter+number names the big square, each keypad digit narrows it 3Γ3 (200 m β 66.7 m β 22.2 m). Distance is straight-line between the two points; azimuth is the bearing from your gun to the target in degrees and NATO mils (6,400 per circle β the scale the HLL series has always used for artillery). When the elevation tables land, the calculator maps distance β elevation per shell type with piecewise interpolation between calibrated samples.
